Sunny Spring Sundays

Well it's almost been a week since I posted here and I feel I need to drop in and say hello. Life has been ticking along in the background with work, birthdays, our eldest popping home and hubs busy with his band rehearsing for an upcoming gig. Blogging has taken a back seat to the carnival of family life as it has to do sometimes. I'm OK with that but I hope to be around here more regularly soon. In the meantime thank you for reading, following and commenting here at Just a little less this week.

Today has been gloriously sunny and warm just like last Sunday. Sunny spring Sundays remind me to

♥ Stop and stare at the beauty of nature. Spring skies are so vividly blue and the awakening blossom and flowers look stunning set against them. Recording this with my camera helps to store these magical spring days.
♥ Smile.
♥ Look forward.
♥ Just be and relax. Asking' What doesn't need doing today?' rather than 'What do I have to do today?'
♥ Get outdoors.
♥ Get a little fitter. Isn't it easier to go for a run on a bright spring morning? Well, a little.
♥ Keep simplifying. Having a low maintenance garden and a smaller house to clean are giving me more free hours each week. Further decluttering and simplifying my possessions and routines will help me achieve more moments of calm.
♥ Be thankful.

Have a great week xo

  2. That photo is stunning. The colours! I'm just starting to notice the blossom appearing on trees locally and am itching to get out with my camera and capture some. I'll be thrilled if I get a shot like yours. Spring Sundays make me feel industrious and productive in a way that the other seasons don't. Come summer, it's all about beer and barbecues. x

    1. Thank you. The blossom in our area is stunning right now. I have to curb my energy at this time of year as I want to do everything that needs to be done and that's not possible. But I am hoping to tackle the most urgent jobs before summer. Trying to balance industry with relaxation is hard sometimes. Have a good week :)

  6. Lovely photo Clare and it's good to hear that Spring has arrived for you.
I've been offline most of this week too as we moved last Tuesday and have been unpacking and re-arranging a good deal of the time since then. All the items that don't fit easily will be donated and it is truly delightful to have downsized at last. xxx

    1. Great news Megan. I am so, so pleased for you! You are right to get rid of anything that doesn't fit your new home as soon as you can. Enjoy your new home. Claire xo

  7. I just made the decision this morning that I need to stop trying to fit so much into the day and just be more available for my little babe. Even though I am home with her all day, I tend to get wrapped up in the to-do list. So this morning we sat down for a warm homemade bread and honey snack - messy fingers and crumbs allowed to sit without me wiping them up right away. Having that time with her was one of the things I had to do today.

  10. Blogging is like being with good friends - you don't need to see them all the time, but when you do it's great and you just carry on as though you saw them yesterday! xxx
