52 Weeks of Happy (44/52)
It's been a chilled, quiet week here. Settling down to life at home and savouring some simple mid- August pleasures. And it's been lovely. We had two long walks at the weekend. One to a local reservoir and one along the canal. Stretching our legs and eyes, spotting autumnal signs in the hedgerows, tasting the first blackberries, gazing at blue skies and shimmering water... Just wonderful.
So here are my simple pleasures this week.
♥ These cheerful flowers picked from our communal car park. Not perfect with slightly holey leaves but so much nicer than anything you'd buy in a supermarket.
♥ Late-afternoon sunshine by the canal.
♥ Amazing skies and huge fields of wheat on our walk back from the reservoir.
♥ A mid morning doughnut celebration. Yes, today was A-level results day and I'm very, very pleased to say that our eldest got the required grades for his first choice uni, Sheffield Hallam. I'm sure there'll be more celebrations later tonight!
Joining in with Jen from Little Birdie - it's so good to celebrate the everyday and those life-changing happy moments too. And thank you all for reading, following and commenting this week.
Be happy xo

Congratulations eldest, that's fantastic news. It must be wonderful not to have to wait any more. The flowers are indeed so much better than any supermarket flowers with their flower air miles and loads of chemicals no doubt. I love them. Beautiful photos today. A very happy post. Just what I needed.
ReplyDeleteLove your pictures, congratulations on such good results. I loved Sheffield Hallam I studied there!
