Mistletoe

Candles and mistletoe.

A little bit of Christmas cheer for my house.

And a little bit of romance.

I thought I'd have a go at a simple idea I saw in a magazine - a reused jar with a tea-light and some mistletoe tied to the rim with string. I've adapted it by using a mason jar I already have, a larger candle and some reused ribbon.

Mistletoe, a British native woodland plant, is symbolic of romance, fertility and vitality. And according to ancient Christmas custom a man and woman meeting under hanging mistletoe are obliged to kiss.

Sounds worth a try to me. So I'm off now to find somewhere to hang my remaining mistletoe.

Here's to romance
.
